Tasked with designing a brain research facility that stimulates multi-disciplinary collaboration, inspires possibility and openness, and embraces sustainable infrastructure, the integrated Interiors and Science and Technology studios in the Lawrence, KS and Dallas, TX offices worked alongside partnering firm KPMB to win the design competition for the new research facility for Canada's Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, ON.
As a member of the Interiors team for this design competition, my focus was on the workplace strategy and shared building core and staff 'Oasis'. I created the workplace design strategy symbol – a visual representation of our concept – which was used in the final design competition deliverable. Concept sketches, floor plan diagrams, axons, and renderings were completed as studies during Schematic Design and Design Development. The project is currently in the Design Development phase.
